Objectives of the Course

It is aimed to teach the evaluation methods used in determining the developmental characteristics of children, how to select and use these methods, information about family-centered evaluation approaches, and an analytical and evidence-based viewpoint to reveal developmental and educational needs.

Course Content

Developmental evaluation tools, developmental evaluation techniques, principles of developmental evaluation, family centered developmental evaluation, feedback after developmental evaluation, writing a developmental evaluation report, post induced developmental evaluation, transdisciplinary study in the developmental evaluation process will be emphasized.

Learning Outcomes
1.Recognize the standardize tests and their varieties and make the appropriate choice for evaluation purposes.
2.Recognize the evaluation tools and their variants, choose the appropriate tool for their purpose and interpret the result.
3.Can manage the evaluation process with a family-centered approach.
4.Using his/her basic information on the topics of Child Development and Education, makes suggestions, transfers the learned topics into practice, interprets information and results from practice. Analyzes the scientific research published in the field with a critical point of view.
5.Can use his/her accumulated information on his/her profession in favor of health, educational and social services organizations, particularly for children and their families, takes active roles in developmental and educational programs and related projects; participates in researches.
