Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to understand ergonomic principles in patient care and healthcare systems and to acquire the knowledge necessary to conduct care practices in accordance with these principles.

Course Content

Ergonomics and related concepts; basic ergonomic principles in healthcare institutions; mechanical, physical, chemical, biological, and psychological hazards (stress and burnout) resulting from inadequate ergonomic conditions in nurses’ working environments; OSHA ergonomic standards for nurses; and the legal aspects of ergonomics in the world and in Türkiye
