This situation can be associated with keeping the target and expectation high in the related program in terms of the theoretical and executive elements of the said program. Although the musical performance and theoretical aspects in the content of the program are predominant by the nature of the field, they will reveal different approaches in the field of Traditional Turkish Music by performing interdisciplinary studies. PhD Program" in Traditional Turkish Music; It will have a complementary and enriching quality, with the reflection of the knowledge and experience of our State Conservatory's Traditional Turkish Music Department and Music Department faculty members on the theoretical and performative elements of music into this program. This situation can be attributed to the fact that the goals and expectations are kept high in the relevant program in terms of the theoretical and operational elements of the said program. Although the content of the program mainly includes musical performance and theoretical aspects due to the nature of the field, it will also present different approaches in the field of Traditional Turkish Music by carrying out interdisciplinary studies.

Traditional Turkish Music Master's Program with Thesis, which will operate under the Department of Traditional Turkish Music within the Institute of Social Sciences, started education in the Fall Term of 2020-2021. Traditional Turkish Music Doctoral Program, which will operate under the Department of Traditional Turkish Music within the Institute of Social Sciences, will start education in the 2023-2024 Spring Semester.

The main mission of the Traditional Turkish Music Doctoral Program is; It is the treatment of Turkish Classical Music and Turkish Folk Music genres under the name of "Traditional Turkish Music" with a holistic approach on the axis of music science.

The vision of “Traditional Turkish Music Master's Program” with thesis; To be remembered by educating artists and scientists who know the past of their music culture and think about the future. The Vision of the Traditional Turkish Music Doctoral Program is to train academics who can conduct interdisciplinary systematic research in the context of the performance and theoretical integrity of Traditional Turkish Music and have a "multi-faceted" perspective on music.

It can be said that the general structuring in programs with music fields in our country is based on either Turkish music or Classical Western music. The Turkish Music program is still practiced in various units with the names and distinctions of Turkish Folk Music and Classical Turkish Music, Turkish Art Music. When these programs within the scope of the related field are analyzed, it can be said that current programs tend to break from this one-based approach. It is aimed that the “Traditional Turkish Music” master program will show consistency with this current approach by considering Turkish Music as a whole.
