Objectives of the Course

The aim is to examine the historical development of Turkish music theory.

Course Content

1. Music in Turks and Arabs. 2. The formation process of Turkish music theory before Safiyuddin Urmevi (9th-13th centuries) 3. The systematic school and scholarly researchers and their studies (13th-15th centuries) 4. The Anatolian school and studies conducted during the period of scholars (15th-19th centuries) 5. Music theory in the 20th century
