Objectives of the Course

This course aims to provide a supportive, structured learning environment for the acquisition of addiction counseling skills. It focuses on understanding the relationships between the physiological and psychological effects of addiction and the negative effects of addiction in children and adolescents. It learns individual and group-based strategies in preventing addiction in the school environment and gains techniques that provide behavior change.

Course Content

To know the history and development of addiction counseling. To comprehend addiction theories and models related to behavioral and process addictions related to addiction. Learning self-help principles and approaches in prevention and intervention, and the neurological, behavioral, psychological, physical and social effects of addiction on people. Using psychological tests and assessments for addiction counseling.
