1. To give information to students about the types of social differentiation in Turkish society and their effects on social structure. 2. To help students to analyze whether social differentiations are a richness or a threat for the integrity of the social structure from different perspectives. 3. To help the students to discuss and develop different opinions about what conditions are necessary o make a positive contribution for social differences to social integration. 4. To provide a suitable environment for students to develop appropriate theoretical and practical solutions about how to be transformed social conflicts arising from social differentiations into social solidarity through education.
The types of social differentiation emerging in social structures: gender, race, religion, language, color, region, political affiliation, economic status, occupation and education level. Polarization among the people caused by social differences. How social differentiations threaten the social structure. How social differentials in the social structure are a richness for social integration. The role of education in social differentiation and social integration in contemporary Turkey.
