To discuss Turkey's Central Asia and Caucasus policy with a historical perspective, to enable the students to comprehend the reasons for the changes in Turkish foreign policy regarding Central Asia and the Caucasus.
Within the scope of this course, the relations between Turkey and the eight republics that emerged in Central Asia and the Caucasus after gaining their independence from the Soviet Union will be examined from a historical perspective. The main dynamics of Turkey's policy towards the region will be discussed, and the reasons for the continuity and ruptures in these dynamics will be analyzed.
