Objectives of the Course

The aims of this course are; to present the concepts of recreation and tourism, to present the concepts of mass tourism, alternative tourism types, ecotourism and cultural tourism, among the types of tourism, to evaluate the planning, design and management of recreation areas in rural and urban landscapes, to present the methods of handling the phenomenon of recreational tourism in the context of physical planning, from the world and Turkey to present examples from, to present and analyze the positive and negative aspects of recreational tourism regarding the protection of landscapes.

Course Content

Within the scope of this course, defining the concept of tourism, explaining the types of tourism, presenting the concepts of alternative tourism and ecotourism, defining the principles of ecotourism, presenting the types of ecotourism, evaluating the philosophy of ecotourism with examples from the world and Turkey, comparing mass tourism and ecotourism, defining the concept of recreation, Presenting the relationship between tourism and tourism, evaluating recreational tourism, presenting national and international research on this subject, explaining examples of recreational tourism land use in the world and in Turkey, presenting new approaches in recreational tourism planning, and presenting a sample planning scenario study by students.

2.To be able to examine recreational tourism resources in terms of physical planning
3.To be able to present and analyze the positive and negative aspects of recreational tourism regarding the protection of landscapes with samples
4.To be able to examine recreational tourism activities in various countries
5.To present new approaches in recreational tourism planning and to conduct an exemplary planning scenario study
6.To be able to follow new developments in recreational tourism resources planning and management
7.To understand the chain of recreational tourism planning, landscape protection and landscape management
