Objectives of the Course

In the 15th and 16th centuries, the social and economic life of the Ottoman Empire in the Ottoman Empire to be comprehended by the students, to form a basis for subsequent research in this field.

Course Content

Students comprehend the conditions under which the Ottoman Empire was founded. Students will have information about the ongoing changes in the form of state and society from the establishment of the Ottoman Empire to the classical period. Gain a general idea about the production of rural and urban life that created the Ottoman Empire. By learning the Ottoman tax system, they learn which items the collected taxes were spent on and its contribution to the expansion of the state in the military field. They reach a general understanding about the life of individuals in the Ottoman society.
