Objectives of the Course

To raise individuals who can learn the past, synthesize the present and build the future, and prepare themselves and their country for the future in this sense. To understand history and to train theorists who can turn it into a strategy, to discover new strategies and logic and methods, and to interpret history with a strategic mind.

Course Content

The understanding of history in Turkey gained a more analytical and scientific quality with the influence of the Annales school in the world and the work of Ömer Lütfi Barkan. However, the current changing world policies, states and even the global capital acting as states follow more complex and fuzzy logic, making it necessary for us not to act with a straight logic in all social sciences, especially in History. Because these superpowers act with the method of learning the past, analyzing the present and thus building the future. In developed countries, the science of history is the source of all social sciences as a source for other sciences. What makes them different is the difference in the methodologies and strategies they apply in the science of History. Learning the historical strategies and tactics of imperialism will give students the ability to think strategically and to know the world better.
