Objectives of the Course

Comparison of agricultural policies and agricultural markets in developed and developing countries. For this contex the countries will be classified as improved economies (EU-15, USA, Japan, Canada, Switzerland, Norway), new industrialized countries (Australia, New Zealand, South Korean), emerging economy and countries with improving economies (Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Mexican) developed countries and European canditates or member (Bulgaria, Hungary, Macedonia, Turkey).

*Definition, objectives, instruments of the policy * The characteristics of agricultural markets * The importance of the agricultural sector and macro-economic variables in developed and developing countries. * Agricultural policies in developed and developing countries. * The properties of agricultural markets * Analysis of agricultural markets in developed and developing countries * Relationship between agricultural policies and markets * Differences in agricultural markets in developed and developing countries

Week 1 - Theoretical
General terms (macro economic variables, the notion of developed and developing countries, agriculture politics, the purposes and the means of agriculture economy, agriculture markets and its specific properties).
Week 2 - Theoretical
Some demografic and macroeconomic variables (population, employment, capitation, GSHM, inflation, eficiency labor, foreigntrade temporary,) constration between developed and developing countries.
Week 3 - Theoretical
The applied agriculture politics in developed and newly industrialized countries.
Week 4 - Theoretical
The applied agriculture politics in emerging and developing countries. (innerand external factors which affect agriculture politics, new strategies)
Week 5 - Theoretical
The methods used in the analysis of agricultural markets and general characteristics of agricultural markets
Week 6 - Theoretical
General characteristics of agricultural markets in developed countries
