At the end of this course, students will learn fundamental concepts and theories of sustain able ruraldevelopment policy and will be equiped with information and skills that is necessary to analyze the rural development indicators they will be able to analyze the rural areas and projects; its problems through use of rural development indicators.
It is especially focused on fallowing issues: • An overview of sustain able ruraldevelopment issuesand policies in the some Countries. • Knowledge on the aspects currently identified as a key for development in rural areas in its orientation to the sustain able development. • An introduction to rural development indicators on the basis of current projects. • Criteria on the use fulness of different indicators according to particular objectives of rural programmes. • Practical experience on how to develop, use and evaluate indicators. • Evaluation of indicators: Practical work • Discussion of the topics covered along the course from the view point of Turkey • Use of indicators to evaluate sustainable development in rural areas : Examples of EU, OECD countries and Turkey Projects
