Objectives of the Course

The basic concepts in ecology include the effects of biotic and abiotic factors on weed development and culture plant-weed interaction, ecology in the weed-disease-disease relationship, plant communities, plant dynamics, succession and plant infestations.

Course Content

The basic concepts in ecology include the effects of biotic and abiotic factors on weed development and culture plant-weed interaction, ecology in the weed-disease-disease relationship, plant communities, plant dynamics, succession and plant infestations. The importance of ecology in weed control is also emphasized. In addition, relations between populations (competition, allelopathy, herbivorous, parasitism and mutualism) are discussed.
