Objectives of the Course

To demonstrate the interrationship between digestive system of poultry and the development, function, specific immunity (GALT) and health of the gastrointestinal tract, its function related to growth, digestion and uptake of nutrients.

Course Content

To assess the mechanism of pathogen control in the avian gastrointestinal tract and implications of feed processing technies on the structure health and functional development of GIT, availability of nutrients, performance and quality of foods of animal origin.

Name of Lecturer(s)
Learning Outcomes
1.Understanding the mechanism of pathogen control in the avian gastrointestinal tract and maintaining intestinal health and integrity concomitantly.
2.Understanding gastrointestinal structure and functional development and their roles on improvement in nutrient utilization and optimization of productive performance.
3.To demonstrate the influences of food processing technics on function of digestive system, intestinal health and absorption efficiacy of nutrients through intestines.
4.To show the significant roles of poultry nutrition and intestinal health on meat and egg production and quality in poultry.
5.5. Control strategies against dietary mycotoxin and in-feed additivies with anti-micotic properties.
