In this course; it is aimed to explain rights and democracy concepts, to examine relationship between education and democracy from different perspectives , basic democratic values, the principles of modern democracy, to explain relations with different concepts of democracy, to increase awareness by discussing new approaches in education for democracy.
Human rights and democracy concepts; democracy and education; purposes of human rights and democracy training; children rights, women rights, samesexuality, health rights and several freedoms; legal basis of rights; historical development of human rights and democracy; democracy movements in Turkey; analysis of human rights and democracy in primary and secondary school curricula; new trends in human rights and democracy education
