The aim of this course is to enable students to deal with mental health and psychopathology in social and cultural context and to increase their sensitivity to cultural differences.
Social origins of psychopathology, psychological dimensions of social change, migration, culture shock and adjustment, social groups and deviations, minority groups, racism and mental health.

| 2. | Define psychological normal-abnormal concepts by considering social-cultural context. |
| 3. | Knows and explains the meaning and effects of stress in different cultures. |
| 4. | Explain the effects of social change on individual's mental health. |
| 5. | Knows and explains the individual mental health consequences of migration experience. |
| 6. | Explains religious beliefs in cultural context and their relationship with mental health. |
| 7. | Knows and explains the effect of cultural context on specific mental disorders. |
| 8. | Recognize and explain the mental health problems of being a minority and being exposed to racist prejudices. |
