Objectives of the Course

Learning about the peatland created by Sphagnum (Sphagnaceae) taxa in the world and Türkiye and the characteristics of these areas. In addition, learning the diversity of taxa belonging to the Sphagnum genus that are effective in the formation of these peatlands is among the main objectives of the course.

Course Content

Peathlands formed by sphagnum and their characteristics will be explained. The importance and distribution of these swamps in the world will be given. The swamps formed by sphagnum in our country and the importance of placing these areas will be explained. Also, taxa belonging to the Sphagnum genus that make up these peatlands will be taught.
