Objectives of the Course

To rethink, and develop critical perspective on, political, economic and social changes in the Middle Eastern Societies in the light of sociological theories.

Course Content

The course examines the emergence of the "Middle East" as a geographical area and a sociological construct from a crtical perspective and discusses political, economic and cultural changes and transformation from a historical perspective.
