Objectives of the Course

Within the scope of this course, the differences and transformations in different areas of daily life caused by individuals' lives, thinking styles, actions and behavioral patterns are discussed. In this direction, the criticism of popular culture and mass culture will be the main focus. At the end of this course, students are expected to analyze the effects of transformations in different areas of daily life.

Course Content

Changes and transformations in different areas of daily life create effects at both individual and social levels. Certain areas of popular culture such as media, sports, music, fashion and tourism shape the daily lives of individuals. Therefore, to understand the content and nature of these areas means to grasp the social and cultural transformation.

1.Understanding the main concepts and discussions about everyday life and culture
2.To be able to define and understand the basic debates and theories about the concepts of everyday life and culture in the modern and postmodern era.
3.To have an advanced level of knowledge in everyday life and culture and to be able to relate it to current social theory.
4.To be able to comprehend the changing nature and change dynamics of the phenomena and concepts studied from the modern era to the postmodern revolution.
5.To improve the ability to demonstrate a critical and objective approach in analyzing concepts of everyday life and culture
