In recent years there have been radical changes and transformations in the cities both in Turkey and the world. The rise and expansion of social class and spatial segregation, commodification and shrinking of public spaces, privatization of the commons, fading of the urban-rural division, increasing problems of sustainability, accessibility and resilience problems in the cities and the future of the social movements regarding the right to the city have become burning problems of contemporary urbanizations.
