Suitable work in an interdisciplinary field of science, the Turkish Language and Literature, research the development of the Turkish language and literature from past to present. Acting in the historical and contemporary texts of Turkish language, it reveals that Turkish language contribution to the culture of common humanity. For this, examined all the texts from "tamga"s to phonetic alphabet and then carried out consecutive and simultaneous evaluations. The major classics of world literature are considered all approaches within the framework especially intertextuality.
History
The Department of Turkish Language and Literature was founded in 1992 with our university and graduate-level education started in the academic year of 1993-1994. In our department provides a master's degree from the academic year of 2002-2003
Mission
The aim of Turkish Language and Literature post-graduate program is to create awareness about cultural background which was manifested in semantic richness of the title of Turk within thousands of years and reveal reflection of this background on language and literature. Apprehend the fact that this activity is an oceanic feeling which requires submission and this feeling results in Turkish and those who speak Turkish being categorized as “universal” and represent this conscious.
Vision
Perform modern education, teaching and scientific activities considering that information provided as the improvements of era could be eigenvalues which are not realized within ordinariness of daily life. Internalize the values which create us keeping in mind that each person is equal; apprehend and explain that the superiority of our ancestors who represent these values with their belonging is an incidental case which does not have an ore but emerge with experiences gained during service to humanity and with prices paid. Realize the value of them left in a verse, in a ballad, in a proverb and make people realize it. Train students who can prove the fact that Turkish which is spoken as mother language throughout the world is the composition of all cultures belonging to world.
Purpose
Give an education which would be beneficial to humanity, to our nation and to the individuals. Enable an individual who graduates from Turkish Language and Literature Department to apply and use the theoretical knowledge that s/he must have learned, even if s/he has chosen another occupation. Raise students who command over simultaneous and succesive products of Turkish culture which one of the most profound and widespread cultures in the world and have conscious and equipment of raising awareness of society about this issue and thereby serve society and humanity in this way.
Physical Infrastructure
Turkish Language and Literature Department is located in Faculy of Arts and Sciences. Our department have bilateral agreements FARABİ student and lecturer exhange programme. Students benefit from campus in the entire social and cultural opportunities
Technical Infrastructure
Turkish Language and Literature Department have 2 classrooms with computer and multimedia projector and 80 person capacity. The department also one 40 person capacity classroom.
