The aim of this course is to introduce the field of Cultural Studies and media via its interdisciplinary nature, critical perspective and historical background.
This course is designed to introduce the field of (British) Cultural Studies in a cultural and historical context through major theorists, influential studies and basic concepts.
| 1. | Discuss the early/fundamental studies and debates that shape cultural studies tradition into historical and cultural context, |
| 2. | Explain the tension between British Cultural Studies and Frankfurt School over their appoaches to culture and society |
| 3. | Explain the influence of Cultural Studies tradition into the field of communication/media studies via historical and contemporary examples |
