Objectives of the Course

The definition of tumor immunology, its history, its place in cancer treatment and defining expectations are to be understood.

Course Content

The main elements of the immune system, Tumor Antigens, Antigen Presentation in Cancer, Immune Techniques in Cancer Diagnosis, Immune System Escape Mechanisms, Expectations in Cancer Immunotherapy will be covered.

Learning Outcomes
1.Tumor antigens, tumor immune response formation, tumor immunotherapy definitions, contents, immune deficiency syndromes and cancer relationship will be explained. To understand the effects of tumor antigens on tumor formation, development, regression and treatment.
2.To learn cytokines, B and T lymphocytes, NK cells, regulatory T cells, properties of dendritic cells and their relationship with tumor
3.To explain the immunological escape mechanisms of the tumor cell.
4.To comprehend the principles of immunotherapy, interferons and cancer
5.To gain laboratory skills on tumor immunology
