The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge and skills in the fundamental principles of beef production in both large and small ruminants, including feeder animal selection, fattening systems, feeding and management practices, factors affecting fattening performance, carcass characteristics, animal welfare, and health management. The course also aims to enable students to apply economical, efficient, and sustainable fattening practices for cattle, sheep, goats, and buffaloes.
This course covers the fundamental concepts of fattening production in cattle, sheep, goats, and buffaloes, including feeder animal selection, fattening systems, factors affecting fattening performance, growth and development, feeding and management practices, ration formulation, meat yield and carcass characteristics, metabolic disorders, economic analysis, animal welfare, biosecurity, and modern technologies used in fattening enterprises through both theoretical and practical applications.
