Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the concepts of data, information, knowledge, and wisdom, as well as the fundamental processes of knowledge management; and to develop their knowledge and skills in acquiring, organizing, storing, sharing, protecting, and utilizing organizational knowledge for professional purposes. The course also aims to develop students’ abilities to access traditional and digital information resources, evaluate the reliability of sources, use organizational information systems, report information, and utilize knowledge effectively in decision-making processes.

Course Content

The course covers the concepts of data, information, knowledge, and wisdom; types of knowledge; the objectives and processes of knowledge management; identifying information needs; information searching and retrieval methods; source evaluation; explicit and tacit knowledge; organizational knowledge; organizational learning; knowledge sharing; organizational memory; information and document management; digital information systems; cloud-based applications; information security; personal data protection; artificial intelligence-supported knowledge management; misinformation; and information ethics.
