Our Department of Construction Technology trains construction technicians who possess the knowledge, skills, professional ethics, and practical competence required by the industry in the fields of engineering, architecture, building inspection, and construction site services.
Our students will be educated through a model that facilitates the early integration of the knowledge they acquire at school into the professional world, in addition to taking theoretical and practical courses in the fields of Construction Technologies, Construction Materials, Project Management, Technical Drawings, Construction Site and Laboratory Applications, Reinforced Concrete, and Quantity Surveying.
Our students will participate in a 3+1 education program. Under this model, which reinforces a hands-on educational approach, they will graduate equipped not only with theoretical knowledge but also with the practical skills and professional experience required by the business world.
Through this model, our students will become familiar with the professional world before graduation, develop their professional knowledge and skills in real-world work environments, and increase their employability by understanding the industry’s expectations.
Students who graduate with the title of Construction Technician may continue their education in Civil Engineering and Architecture bachelor’s degree programs following the DGS exams.
History
The Construction Technology program was established under the Department of Technical Programs as a full-time program during the 2001–2002 academic year and as an evening program during the 2005–2006 academic year. It was restructured as the Department of Construction Technology during the 2011–2012 academic year, and as of 2025–2026, our department has begun implementing a 3+1 education model that includes professional internships in companies.
Mission
In the fields of engineering, architecture, building inspection, and construction site services, the program trains construction technicians who possess the knowledge, skills, professional ethics, and practical competence required by the industry, and who, within a liberal environment that prioritizes tolerance and individual well-being, emphasize participation and creativity.
Vision
The aim is to enable students to interact with the business world earlier and more effectively, and to produce graduates who possess the practical skills required by the business world, have a high level of professional awareness, are adaptable to the workplace, and establish a strong link between theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
Purpose
Our Department of Construction Technology trains construction technicians who possess the knowledge, skills, professional ethics, and practical competence required by the industry in the fields of engineering, architecture, building inspection, and construction site services.
We ensure that our students are educated through a model that enables them to apply the knowledge they gain in school to the professional world early on, by offering both theoretical and practical courses in the fields of Building Technologies, Building Materials, Project Management, Technical Drawings, Construction Site and Laboratory Applications, Reinforced Concrete, and Quantity Surveying.
Physical Infrastructure
Our construction laboratories and workshops consist of two sections with dimensions of 128 m² and 116 m². In our Construction Laboratory; Concrete Test Tractor, Fittings, Iron Detection Device, Los Angeles (Abrading) Tester, Tensile Strength Tester, Concrete Test Tractor, Auxiliary Test Tester, Computer and Printer with Iron Tensile Compression Bending Tester, Computer and Printer, Core Sampling Machine, Liquid Limit, Plastic Limit Determination Experiment Device, Standard and Modifiye Proctor Device. In our laboratory there are two nivo, legacy and field measurement instruments for use in Topography lessons, together with small experimental instruments for screening samples and sieve series for screening and screening experiments and small laboratory equipments.
