Objectives of the Course

To enable students to use basic office software effectively, develop skills in document preparation, data organization, and presentation creation, and acquire essential digital competencies for professional life.

Course Content

To equip students with the ability to format documents and tables created in a word processing program according to writing rules. To teach the fundamental principles of spreadsheet programs and data entry features, as well as the ability to create and interpret charts based on numerical values in spreadsheets. To develop the skill of preparing presentations.

Week 1 - Theoretical & Practice
Information about the definition and content of the course. Concepts of software and hardware in computers
Week 2 - Theoretical & Practice
Introduction to Microsoft Office programs. Introduction to Word. Creating a document and explaining the general tasks of menus and their associated ribbons.
Week 3 - Theoretical & Practice
Home Tab: Using Clipboard, Font, Paragraph, Styles, and Editing groups
Week 4 - Theoretical & Practice
Insert Tab: Using Pages, Tables, Illustrations, Links, Comments, Header and Footer, Text, and Symbols groups
Week 5 - Theoretical & Practice
Design and Page Layout Tabs: Using document formats, themes, page background, page setup, paragraph, and arrange groups
Week 6 - Theoretical & Practice
References Tab: Using Table of Contents, Footnotes, Citations & Bibliography, Captions, and Index groups
Week 7 - Theoretical & Practice
Mailings and Review Tabs: Creating, merging addresses and letters, writing and inserting fields, previewing results. Spell checking, language settings, comments, tracking, changes, comparing, and protecting documents
