Objectives of the Course

The student will be able to conduct an appropriate research to examine the historical development process of textile technology and clothing.

Course Content

Historical investigation of natural and artificial fibers, woven, knitted, nonwoven and printed fabrics. The examination of the dress according to the civilizations, the early ages, the medieval ages, the near ages. Investigation of clothing in terms of geographical, cultural, religious, ethnographic, folkloric comparative characteristics and comparative evaluation of clothing characteristics due to climatic conditions. Examination of Turkish Clothing History, Seljuk, Ottoman and Republican Periods.
