Objectives of the Course

This course aims to make the students understand the importance and the role of Libraries of Medicine and Health Sciences in the field of medicine and health care.

Course Content

Health science and its users; medical information and information sources; information retrieval in medicine; medical libraries; cassification systems and databases; evidence based medicine.

1.To be able to distinguish what records must be kept in health care institutions, and to be able to use up to date systems and forms to keep the data.
2.To be able to apply up to date techniques to keep and archive the data in health care institutions.
3.At the end of the lesson students will learn basic medical information sources, medical information centers, systems and databases.
4.recognize the collection of medical libraries
5.know the evidence-based medicine applications.
