Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to evaluate content produced in digital media environments from a critical perspective, to develop their media literacy skills in the processes of accessing and verifying information, and to understand the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on media production, distribution, and consumption. The course aims to help students become informed and responsible media users in the digital world by raising their awareness of algorithmic systems, data-driven communication, and AI-powered media tools.

The fundamental structure of the digital media ecosystem, the theoretical framework of media literacy, critical thinking skills, the impact of algorithms on content selection and visibility, the functioning of social media platforms, AI-powered content production processes, data-driven communication models, disinformation, information pollution, filter bubbles, echo chambers, recognition of AI tools, analysis of media content, ethical principles, reliability principles, and accuracy principles
