Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to acquire the fundamental knowledge, skills, and professional competencies necessary for veterinary clinical practice.

Course Content

This course covers fundamental clinical practices, preventive medicine, and health management processes in farm and pet animals. Topics include safely restraining animals for clinical examination, age determination methods, blood sampling techniques, injection and puncture procedures, evaluation and treatment of abscesses and bleeding. Additionally, anesthesia techniques, vaccines and vaccination methods used in animals, and the use of drug and vaccine tracking systems are taught both theoretically and practically.

Learning Outcomes
1.Explains how to safely immobilize domestic mammalian animals prior to clinical examination.
2.Explains the methods and practical applications of blood collection, injection, and puncture techniques.
3.Explains age determination methods in farm animals using teeth and horns.
4.Explains preoperative preparation procedures and anesthesia techniques.
5.Learns the types of vaccines used in different animal species and their application methods.
6.Learns how to use the Drug Tracking System and the Vaccine Tracking System.
