Objectives of the Course

This course aims for students to learn the concepts of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and to gain knowledge and awareness regarding the processes of preserving, managing, and transmitting this heritage to future generations, as well as its role in social and economic development.

Course Content

The concept and definitions of cultural heritage; tangible (movable/immovable) and intangible cultural heritage; national and international conservation legislation and organizations (UNESCO, ICOMOS, etc.); cultural heritage management and tourism; prominent cultural heritage sites in Türkiye and around the world.

5.It offers proposed solutions by developing an analytical and critical approach to the preservation of cultural heritage.
