Objectives of the Course

Definition and understanding of the concepts of conservation and restoration in textiles, organic and inorganic material groups, defining the reasons for the deterioration of these materials with different properties and the measures to be taken. In the field of textile conservation and restoration, the importance of conservation, restoration and restoration, the basic concepts of protection, protection against deterioration of textiles and the deterioration of moisture, temperature, light, air pollution and biological factors, the definition, control, measurement of the basic information is given to the guests. World in Turkey and also the importance of the restoration, development, restoration and related forms of work organization are examined. In the light of this information, some techniques used in conservation and restoration on textile samples and applications in small scale and reinforcing the theoretical knowledge constitute the content of the course.

Course Content

Understanding of the importance of conservation and restoration in textile field, basic concepts of protection, restoration and repair, protection of textiles against deterioration and causing deterioration. World in Turkey and also the importance of the restoration, development, restoration and related forms of work organization are examined. In the light of this information, some techniques used in conservation and restoration on textile samples and applications in small scale and reinforcing the theoretical knowledge constitute the content of the course.
