The aim of this course is; Recognizing edible wild plants that grow spontaneously in the natural flora, learning their botanical properties, examining their traditional and modern usage areas, and teaching sustainable use methods. In addition, it is aimed for students to gain awareness about local plant diversity and to be able to evaluate the economic potential of wild plants.
Introduction to the plant kingdom and the flora of Turkey, non-flowering plants (algae, mosses and ferns), general characteristics of gymnosperms and angiosperms, recognition of important families, morphological characteristics of species belonging to families, diagnostic criteria and areas of use.
