Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to provide students with fundamental knowledge and skills related to determining plant water requirements in landscape areas, selecting appropriate irrigation methods, and planning, operating, and maintaining irrigation systems and their basic components.

Course Content

This course covers the importance of water for plants and soil, plant water consumption, irrigation water quality, determination of irrigation timing and quantity, and surface, sprinkler, and drip irrigation methods. Irrigation system components used in landscape areas, system design, water conservation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting are also examined.
