The aim is to teach students the standardization criteria necessary to preserve the post-harvest quality of medicinal and aromatic plants; and to provide them with theoretical and practical knowledge about drying, preservation, and packaging techniques.
This course explains how to preserve the post-harvest quality of medicinal and aromatic plants. It teaches physical, chemical, and microbiological standardization criteria. It provides skills in modern drying and preservation techniques that prevent loss of active ingredients in plant materials, methods of combating contamination, and the ability to select packaging materials suitable for the plant's chemical structure. It also explains correct packaging and labeling methods.
