Objectives of the Course

To provide students with knowledge and practical skills related to fruit production principles, fruit species, orchard establishment, cultural practices, and sustainable fruit production techniques within the scope of organic agriculture.

Course Content

This course covers the basic principles of fruit growing, fruit species and classification, ecological factors affecting fruit production, propagation methods, rootstock and variety selection, orchard establishment and planning. In addition, pruning, training systems, irrigation, fertilization, organic fruit production practices, pest and disease management, harvesting, and post-harvest operations are examined. At the end of the course, students are expected to gain knowledge and practical skills in fruit production in accordance with sustainable and organic agriculture principles.
