Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to provide students with the operational dynamics, management processes, and human relations within institutions in the agricultural and food sectors, framed by the disciplines of agricultural organization and organizational behavior. The course covers human behavior in agricultural enterprises, work design, internal-external communication networks, the impacts of globalization on labor and employment, managerial functions, and organizational models of agricultural cooperatives and the food sector, aiming to equip students with the theoretical capacity to effectively coordinate agricultural organizations.

Course Content

Introduction to organizational behavior and the core focus areas of the discipline. Analysis of human behavior, work structures, and working order within agricultural and managerial processes. Communication mechanisms of agricultural organizations with internal and external environments. Reflections of globalization, changing workforce dynamics, new employment strategies, and information technologies on agricultural organization. Core functions of agricultural managers, models of organizational structures in agriculture, the socioeconomic importance of producer organizations and cooperatives, and organizational structures in the food value chain.

Learning Outcomes
1.Explain the concept of organizational behavior, its interdisciplinary structure, and its importance for analyzing human and managerial processes in agricultural enterprises.
2.Define the intra-organizational working order, work structures, and managerial processes to analyze institutional communication networks established with internal and external environments.
3.Evaluate the impacts of globalization, the changing structure of the workforce, and new employment strategies on corporate structures and information technologies within the agricultural sector.
4.Explain leadership/managerial functions, authority-responsibility relationships, and the architecture of specific corporate structures unique to agriculture.
5.Analyze the importance of cooperatives and producer associations in agricultural development, and interpret modern organizational models and legal regulations in the food industry.
