Objectives of the Course

To establish a scientific basis to understand the function of carbon compounds, which are the basic building blocks of living systems, and to learn the methods and reactions of obtaining a functional group with this basis.

Course Content

Chapters of Plant Physiology, Chemical composition of plant cells, water metabolism in plants, water uptake, loss and transport in plants, mineral nutrition in plants, solute transport, photosynthesis and chemosynthesis, transport of organic matter in plants, respiration and fermentation, lipid metabolism, assimilation of mineral nutrients, phytonutrients hormones

1.Ability to name an organic compound (according to the IUPAC nomenclature system)
2.Being able to write possible isomers of compounds.
3.To be able to determine basicity, acidity, nucleophilic and electrophilic properties in the structure of the compound and to decide which one can be dominant.
4.To be able to comprehend biochemical concepts easily.
5.To be able to comprehend the events in molecular dimension .
