This course aims to equip students with the skills to identify basic care needs of elderly individuals and provide appropriate, safe, and ethical care.
The patient care process, fluid-electrolyte balance and imbalances, urinary system diseases, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological system disorders, and supportive care practices for elderly individuals. Gaining practical caregiving skills in healthcare institutions.

| 1. | Identifies the basic care needs of the elderly by assessing their health status. |
| 2. | Performs care practices that support the elderly in their activities of daily living. |
| 3. | Provides supportive care in cases of fluid-electrolyte imbalance, respiratory, cardiovascular, urinary, and neurological problems. |
| 4. | Acts in accordance with patient safety, hygiene, and ethical principles during the care process. |
| 5. | Records observations related to the care process and reports them to the relevant healthcare personnel. |
| 6. | Provides basic information about the care process to the elderly and their families. |
