Objectives of the Course

To teach students the concepts of emergency and disaster, the importance of disasters, types of disasters, precautions to be taken against disasters, disaster management, the effects of disasters on public health, preventing hazards that pose risks before, during, and after disasters, and the stages of disaster management, including mitigation, preparation, response, and recovery. To ensure students are prepared for and able to plan for any potential disaster or emergency. With this awareness, they will be informed about their duties and responsibilities by taking an active role in disaster preparedness.

Disaster and risk concepts; disaster, risk and damage reduction Disaster training and importance; disaster preparedness, disaster response, disaster recovery Natural and human disasters Effects of disasters on sustainable development Climate change and meteorological disasters Reducing disaster damages in Turkey and the world studies Earthquake regulations, effectiveness in disaster management Disaster management cycle, disaster terminology, coordination in disaster management, emergency and disaster coordination centers Ethical values ??in disaster management

1.Basic Definitions and Concepts for Disasters and Emergency Situations
2.Knows how to behave before, during and after an earthquake.
3.Learns about disasters such as floods, inundations, and dew and knows rescue practices.
4.Knows the types of fires and extinguisher types and knows the extinguishing practices.
5.Knows how to act in cases of food poisoning.
6.Knows what to pay attention to in case of animal and insect bites.
7.Learns the rules of first aid in disasters.
8.Recognize emergency equipment and supplies.
