Objectives of the Course

This course aims to enable students to understand the concepts of electric and hybrid vehicles and acquire the theoretical knowledge behind these concepts.

Course Content

Electric vehicle components; history of electric vehicles; types of electric vehicles; batteries and battery modeling; alternative energy sources (photovoltaics, flywheels, capacitors, and fuel cells) and storage; DC and AC electric motors, brushed DC motors, and brushless electric motors; power electronics and motor studies; power transmission in electric vehicles.
