The aim of this course is to enable students to understand how artificial intelligence technologies are used in art and design, to effectively use generative AI tools in creative production processes, to evaluate AI-assisted art productions in esthetic, ethical and theoretical contexts, and to contribute to students' ability to develop original AI-assisted art projects.
Historical development of artificial intelligence, generative AI systems, algorithmic art, generative art, NFT and datadriven artistic productions, prompt engineering, text-to-image generation systems, AI-assisted digital illustration, graphic design, photo manipulation, Walter Benjamin’s concept of aura, Baudrillard’s theory of simulation, contemporary AI artists, copyright and ethical issues, and the development of AI-assisted art projects.
