Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to teach students the basic concepts of statistics, data types and data organization methods; To provide students with the ability to analyze and interpret data using statistical series, graphs, central tendency and variability measures. At the end of the course, it is aimed that students will be able to accurately analyze numerical data encountered especially in the fields of banking, insurance and public relations.

Course Content

In this course, the basic concepts of statistics, data types and data collection methods are discussed; The organization and presentation of data with statistical series and graphs are examined. In addition, basic statistical skills are gained for analyzing and interpreting data using parametric and non-parametric measures of central tendency and measures of variability.

Learning Outcomes
1.CollDevelops statistical thinking skills by explaining the basic concepts of statistics, data types and data collection methods.ect and convert the data series
2.Classifies data, creates statistical series and makes appropriate table edits
3.Analyzes and interprets statistical data by visualizing it with graphs (column, line, pie, histogram).
4.Evaluates data sets by calculating parametric measures of central tendency (arithmetic, weighted, geometric and harmonic mean).
5.Compares and interprets data sets using nonparametric measures of central tendency and basic measures of variability.
