The objective of this course is to enable students to recognize common surgical conditions encountered in emergency medical services, perform rapid assessments in surgical emergencies, administer appropriate initial interventions, and provide safe care throughout the process leading up to patient transport.
This course covers surgical conditions and traumas encountered in emergency medical services. Students develop skills in patient assessment in the field, monitoring vital signs, recognizing surgical emergencies, and performing appropriate initial interventions. The course focuses on bleeding control, shock management, trauma management, preoperative stabilization, and patient transport procedures. Additionally, patient safety, teamwork, and emergency management are addressed through a comprehensive approach.
