Objectives of the Course

To acquire the basic English vocabulary required for the professional field, communicate at a basic level with patients and healthcare professionals, demonstrate proficiency in fundamental English medical terminology related to the field, and follow professional resources written in English.

Course Content

This course covers fundamental English terminology used in the field of first aid and emergency care, professional communication skills, and language structures related to the profession. The course includes terminology related to the human body and organ systems, patient assessment, signs and symptoms, pain assessment, emergency intervention commands, medications, medical equipment, and professional expressions used in ambulance services. It aims to enable students to communicate at a basic level with patients and healthcare professionals, obtain patient histories, understand and complete basic medical documentation, and follow professional resources written in English.

1.To use basic medical terminology accurately in both spoken and written communication.
2.To keep up with current developments in the field.
3.To communicate in English at a basic level with patients and healthcare professionals.
4.Students will be able to take a basic medical history from patients or their relatives in the target language, including chief symptoms, pain location, and past medical history.
5.Students will be able to understand and complete basic documentation related to medical interventions and vital signs, including ambulance report forms, in English.
