Objectives of the Course

"The objective of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform primary (ABCDE) and secondary (systematic physical examination and medical history taking) assessment stages of patients or casualties in pre-hospital emergency medical services in accordance with current guidelines. Additionally, it aims to develop clinical reasoning competencies to analyze pathophysiological processes in medical emergency cases originating from the respiratory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems, to determine correct emergency care approaches, and to comprehend the theoretical concepts, indications, contraindications, and risk factors regarding basic pharmacological applications at a cognitive level."

Course Content

This course covers the systematic evaluation of patients or casualties and emergency care approaches for basic systemic diseases in pre-hospital emergency medical services. The course content includes an introduction to emergency patient care, primary assessment techniques and applications, secondary assessment techniques, theoretical foundations of pharmacological applications (drug forms, mechanisms of action, indications, and contraindications), pathophysiology of respiratory system diseases and emergency care for respiratory distress, cardiovascular system diseases, approaches to patients with chest pain, and emergency care/stabilization protocols for nervous system diseases
