Objectives of the Course

To provide comprehensive information on the epidemiological and clinical features, diagnosis and treatment methods of infectious diseases, to provide students with the ability to acquire specific knowledge about these diseases, to protect patients from complications, and to manage legal processes related to Notifiable Diseases; thus, to develop an investigative and educational perspective on disease control and prevention.

Course Content

General characteristics of infectious agents, elements of the chain of infection, infection control and isolation methods (contact, droplet, airborne), principles of immunization; clinical characteristics of infectious diseases transmitted via the respiratory, digestive, and blood routes, as well as through sexual contact and via the skin/mucous membranes, along with care principles for these diseases, and current global infection threats and preventive measures.
