Objectives of the Course

The objective of the Emergency Patient Care III course is to develop students’ knowledge and skills in recognizing emergencies that may arise during different stages of life and in specific patient populations, assessing these situations quickly and accurately, and planning and implementing appropriate interventions in accordance with evidence-based approaches. The course focuses specifically on areas such as obstetric, pediatric, psychiatric, geriatric, and oncological emergencies, with the goal of strengthening students’ professional decision-making, critical thinking, and team coordination competencies.

Course Content

This course involves a comprehensive educational process that covers obstetric, pediatric, psychiatric, geriatric, and oncological emergencies, beginning with obstetric emergencies. Throughout the course, each group of emergencies is addressed through a combination of theoretical lectures, presentations, hands-on demonstrations, and case studies. Students gain knowledge regarding the etiology, clinical findings, early diagnostic criteria, and current intervention approaches for relevant emergencies, while simultaneously developing their clinical decision-making skills through case-based exercises.
