Objectives of the Course

To help the student to develop critical thinking, critical reading, writing and discussion skills and to consider critical thinking in decision making.

Course Content

This course covers the fundamental concepts, mental processes, and affective dimensions of critical thinking. Students will develop their skills in recognizing and evaluating arguments, and analyzing deductive and inductive reasoning. Obstacles to critical thinking, principles of validity and robustness, and macro skills will be examined.

Learning Outcomes

1.	Explains the fundamental concepts of critical thinking and compares similarities and differences between related concepts.
2.	Analyzes arguments in terms of structure, validity, and soundness.
3.	Distinguishes between deductive and inductive reasoning and applies them to relevant examples.
4.	Evaluates the cognitive and affective barriers to critical thinking.
5.	Performs critical analysis of everyday situations, media content, and films, and justifies opinions with reasoned arguments.
